Since Camp Ashreinu is an Approved Day Camp, families may receive Day Care Financial Assistance for campers of all ages.
How does a family become eligible? As long as both parents are working, a student in college, or actively seeking employment and their income level meets the county guidelines, the family is eligible. Note, both parents do not need to be working at the exact time of day care. (Ex. A Dr./Nurse can work the night shift and state he/she needs to sleep during the day and that would be sufficient). If you meet income guidelines, download an application form from the HCJFS website. https://jfs.ohio.gov/cdc/families.stm
Complete all government forms and submit them by Weds. May 29th, 2024 to HCJFS. Forms received after that date may not be processed on time and forms received prior to that date may be de-activated.
If our family is already eligible for daycare assistance, how do we add additional children and how do we add Camp Ashreinu as a provider? On Monday, June 3rd (approximately 30 days prior to first day of Camp), visit the ODJFS/ child day care website and report a child care connection. If you already are using a provider, select add provider. The camp’s provider name and license number is Camp Ashreinu Junior, 206998. Repeat this process for each child attending Camp Ashreinu.
It is the family’s responsibility to ensure the connection went through correctly.
Can family members receive additional Jewish Federation financial assistance if they are receiving financial assistance from the government? If you receive financial assistance from the government, you will not be eligible for additional funding. If you are unsure whether you will be eligible for government funding, please note on your Jewish Federation Scholarship application that you are also applying for Govt. assistance, but do not know whether you will be eligible. If you do receive the Jewish Federation funding and then discover that you are eligible for government assistance, you will need to forego the Jewish Federation financial assistance.
How will we know how much to pay the Camp? You will be responsible for paying, the non-refundable (activity) deposit fee, co-pays, additional camp activity fees, (see fee schedule on the Camp’s website), fees above your authorization time period, and any late fees or negligent attendance fees. You will also be responsible to submit the entire Camp fee by the regular deadline and it will be immediately deposited, unless you post date them accordingly or specifically request that they wait to be deposited until the final calculations are determined.
How much will we be refunded from the government and when? Approximately 6 weeks after the last day of Camp, Camp will receive the complete reimbursement from the govt. At that time, Camp will deposit your checks (if not yet already deposited) and reimburse you the amount due to your family.
How do we receive reimbursement from the government? You will need to log in on the camp’s TAP system in the main office upon arrival and departure. It will be your responsibility to ensure that your child is entered in. If your child will be absent, please notify the Camp office immediately, as the government allows for a certain number of absences in which they will reimburse if entered into the system. (The government will only reimburse a full week if your child was entered as being in camp for a minimal of 25 hrs/week. If for whatever reason, your child is entered in for less than 25 hrs, it is your responsibility to pay the remainder of the camp fees.) Make sure to stay current with your log ins and that your attendance is submitted timely and accurately. Once Camp is over, the TAP system will be unavailable to update your attendance. If the Camp does not receive the proper amount from the government, it is the family’s responsibility to pay the camp fees and to work any issues with the government.
If you are planning on receiving government reimbursement, submit the enclosed govt. voucher contract so we can bill you accordingly.
